William Penn


William Penn, formerly theory and composition a faculty member at the Eastman School of Music, visiting Associate Professor of Composition and Electronic music at the University of Connecticut, and currently on the faculty of fine arts at the University of Arizona in Tucson, has written music for Broadway, off-Broadway, film, television, and radio and has had music performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Renwik Gallery, The Smithsonian Institution, The National Air and Space Museum, and Japan's World's Fair, as well as various concert halls in this country and overseas, by such organizations as the Eliot Feld Ballet, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, and the New York Shakespeare Festival. Penn is the recipient of over 20 ASCAP music composition awards in both "serious" and "pop" categories, two ASCAP-Deems Taylore Awards, as well as various National Endowment for the Arts, Meet the Composer, and ADDY Awards.
