Brian Graiser

Brian S. Graiser (MM, BMus) is a contemporary percussionist, composer, and teacher living in Cincinnati OH. His musical exploits are highly diverse, although he takes pride in being at the forefront of advocacy for extended-range vibraphones as both a performer and composer. Originally from Marietta, GA, his performances haven taken him up and down the U.S., Canada, France, Italy and China. He has commmissioned works by composers such as Halim El-Dabh, John Serry, Christien LeDroit, and Peter Olsen; Brian is one half of the harp/percussion ensemble BoDuo along with his wife Alaina, and is a member of the Arasmas Percussion Group in addition to several ensembles at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cinncinnati, where he serves as a percussion Gradute Assistant.

Mr. Graiser is no less active as a composer; he has written works for the TorQ Percussion Quarter, the UGA Percussion Ensemble and Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, the University of Toronto Percussion Ensemble, and a number of artists across the U.S. and Canada. His current projects include a concerto for percussion quartet and wind ensemble commissioned by TorQ and the Tornoto Youth Wind Ensemble and a sextet for the CCM Percussion Ensemble.

Brian currently teaches the CCM Percussion Methods Class, elective lessons for CCM gradute students, and private lessons. Brian is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at CCm, and studies with Allen Otte. He holds his MM edgree from the University of Toronto and his Bmus edgress from the University of Georgia, having studied with Russel Hartenberger, Beverley Johnston, John Rudolph, Micheal Colgraa, Christos Hatzis, Tony McCutchen, Leonard Ball, and Adrain Childs. Brian is an artist endorser of Dream Cymbals and Gongs.
